![]() ![]() I haven't seen any "walled off" CVS Stores though. This is a great time to monetize that real estate. Paying Bay Area rents for giant stores with a significant chunk of space walled off doesn't seem like a particularly efficient use of money. I have to imagine that some of the former Long's stores in California are going to be on the chopping block here, especially in the Bay Area. So glad I do NOT have to do business with them! On the pharmacy side with CVS all I see are very long lines that do not seem to move quickly. You would then get another $10 Extra Buck credited to your account as per the terms of the program. One store I was in the other night at 9 PM, the store manager was there working and offering people a $10 force printed Extra Buck on the spot if they would sign up. The employees are literally desperate to get people signed up for this. You basically let CVS record your credit card number in the store then pay them $5 a month to get a $10 Extra Buck every month and some other benefits. Lately the CVS Corporation has significant pressure on the stores to sign people up for the Carepass $5/month subscription. Their ads are also too big and the stores have to spend too much time each week putting up/taking down ad tags and do not have the staffing to do this. I say this as one of the people who goes and rolls the deals and has piles of various items from these promotions, more than I would ever need, and probably more than the donation bins need. I think CVS needs to move to a model with better pricing and ditch the Extra Bucks/coupon promotion loop they do week after week. All of the stores have at least one self checkout and it works great. The stores have improved in the past couple years on their in-stock levels and conditions, and a few really awful stores have either been closed or rebuilt. There are so many CVS Stores near me, if one store is out of something, I just go from one to the next until I find what I need. I am a frequent customer of multiple CVS Stores every week and keep rolling various promotions/coupons. The quality of the "Gold Emblem" brand seems to have declined in the past 10 years but there are still some items in that line I like on the snack side or beverage side. It's perfect for people dashing in for a couple of non-coupon items, but if it's meant for everyone to use, the prompts for couponers need to be more obvious. Had the store been better staffed, I would have asked for help, but in this case I had to pay without using my $6 in Extra Bucks that were burning a hole in my pocket. The self checkout does let you scan your Extra Care card, so that was one big worry eliminated right away. And that cashier was trying to ring people up and answer questions in the photo area at the same time. In this instance, though, I didn't have tons of options - the CVS store I was in (at the corner of Medical and Wurzbach across the street from Walgreens) had several customers waiting for the one traditional register. I feel like it's more trouble than it's worth in many cases, especially if I'm shopping with reusable bags that the bagging station doesn't recognize. Here are my thoughts on the CVS self checkout experience.įirst, a confession: I usually avoid self checkout lanes at HEB, Home Depot, etc. I had my very first experience with a CVS self checkout register yesterday! ![]() ![]() ![]() Make no mistake, TowerMadness 2 is a great sequel and another good addition to the TD genre. The campaign does add some challenge in the latter missions, but until expect liberal use of the fast forward button. Alas, I think the game’s main campaign is almost too easy, but leaderboards (based on completion times) and an ability to manually push enemy waves faster allow players (which in turn lead to faster completion times) to challenge themselves within the campaign. The difficulty in this sequel also seems to be turned down with a greater emphasis on the game’s other modes in order to satisfy any challenge. ![]() I don’t think the environmental quirks substantially change the strategies that need to be employed, but they’re interesting nonetheless and act as one of the few areas that offers something new that I haven’t really seen before. ![]() For example, the game’s ‘desert’ region makes all your towers overheat, forcing them to pause for a few seconds as they recover from overheating (and encourages greater placement of towers vice pouring resources into less towers). Similar to my gameplay comments above, I felt the sequel additions to be pretty standard with little in terms of surprises.Įach of the game’s regions (four in total) also add environmental aspects to consider. A decent replay system also adds some replayability. Otherwise, TowerMadness 2 sees a standard bump in visual quality that is expected with a game whose predecessor is almost half a decade old. There’s also a lot more variety in terms of maps, with a lot more maps that focus on tower selection and placement rather than the standard ‘lane-building’ open world maps that the original used. #Towermadness 2 walkthrough embarcadero upgrade#There are a variety of new towers across all three types, additional defense systems, and a more robust upgrade system fueled by the in-game currency. There also seems to be an unlimited amount of ad videos that can be watched to earn currency, if you got the time.Īs a sequel, TowerMadness 2 simply expands on everything featured in the original. Personally, I don’t think it’s required as the game’s pretty liberal in terms of earning currency, but it’s a nice balance for players that want to instantly unlock all the levels of a favorite tower. #Towermadness 2 walkthrough embarcadero full#While TowerMadness 2 doesn’t feature a premium currency, it does incorporate IAP via full tower unlocks (which basically just bypass currency requirements). There’s really nothing to complain about regarding the core mechanics as TowerMadness 2 leaves little to the imagination as far as its core mechanics are concerned. Simply put, TowerMadness 2 is old-school TD gameplay with a combination of set and open-path (think Fieldrunners) maps. Towers are loosely classified based on three different categories (energy, fire and electro) with the alien baddies being weak/strong/neutral against those classifications. Your mission? To defend said sheep by placing towers along the aliens’ abduction path. If you’ve not played the original, TowerMadness 2 continues the story of an alien invasion bent on abducting all the sheep in the land. True, it’s still an excellent tower defense game and expands upon the original in every fact, however, it doesn’t do much that hasn’t been seen before. In this day and age, there’s little to be said about TowerMadness 2 (Free) that hasn’t already been said through countless other TD titles. As a 3D open ended tower defense title, it was also one of the first big hits in a TD genre that is now completely saturated. It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly five years since Limbic first launched TowerMadness ($2.99) on the App Store. ![]() ![]()
The destination this setup uses it the DSM user's /home/Drive/Backup/ folder, and access privileges are already correctly configured. So, for now, I would rather use Cloud Station Backup on Mac (etc) to backup to DSM Drive. It is do-able but needs testing and many NAS owners will struggle to do this. And this is the reason I keep using Cloud Server Backup: the DSM admin must ensure that Team folder / shared folder privileges are set correctly to limit access from other DSM users whether from Drive apps or other methods. This means that using Syno Drive for doing a backup (one-way) task must use a Team folder as its target. Doesn't matter if the first task is excluding the folders you want to store the backups. The soundtrack compliments the atmosphere and stays on the fun silly side. SkateBIRD does have some redeeming qualities that help keep some fun in the experience. The controls may not be as much of an issue on a console version with a controller, but for me and my keyboard, it was pretty rough. These controls coupled with a janky physics engine, somewhat finicky camera and awful missions make for a frustrating combo. Nothing about the controls feels intuitive, and they don’t get easier with time either. The best thing I could do was slow the game speed down to about 70% to make it playable. Luckily, you can adjust some of the controls to make it easier for yourself but not by much. The gameplay is designed also in a way where if you accidentally hit the key you didn’t mean to, you can’t cancel it out and will likely mess up everything you’re doing. It’s really hard to keep them all straight, and they are also all bunched together. Besides WASD, a trick or action is also assigned to a left shift, space, f, r, q, t, and x. SkateBIRD has some major control problems, and some of them were even pretty rookie development mistakes. What makes the missions most dreadful of all though, is the controls that go with them. These missions drag the game down, they’re generic, repetitive, timed, and many times the instructions aren’t completely clear. You spend your entire gameplay time either exploring the level you’re on or doing the missions the birds scattered around give you. These levels are also fun to explore, and scattered throughout are hidden items and birds that give you missions. UViGs have led to the discovery of megaphages (with genomes >540 kb) from human and animal gut microbiomes (Devoto et al., 2019), provided first insights into their global distribution (Al-Shayeb et al., 2019), and confirmed that environmental cyanophages contribute to global marine photosynthesis rates (Fridman et al., 2017). Viruses are the most abundant biological entities in many ecosystems and can exert proportionately large effects on ecosystem functions (Fuhrman, 1999 Breitbart et al., 2002). MAGs not only represent bacteria and archaea but also include viruses, which are an integral part of most microbial communities (Dutilh et al., 2014 Brum et al., 2015 Paez-Espino et al., 2016 Roux et al., 2019). And indeed, such metagenome-assembled-genomes (MAGs) have provided information leading to the cultivation of organisms of interest (Gutleben et al., 2018 Cross et al., 2019 Imachi et al., 2020), along with the discoveries of new metabolic processes (Daims et al., 2015), novel insights into the ecology and evolution of globally abundant groups (Delmont et al., 2018), and uncovering a wide diversity of novel phylum-level lineages that have restructured the current understanding of the tree of life (Brown et al., 2015 Hug et al., 2016). In addition to this wealth of information, one of the most beneficial outcomes of shotgun metagenomic projects is the ability to assemble high quality, complete or nearly complete, genomes from organisms not yet amenable to cultivation (Tyson et al., 2004 Luo et al., 2012). These data enable the determination of the community composition (who is there) and total community function (what are they capable of doing). In practice, metagenomic data typically represent hundreds to thousands of microorganisms and viruses at different coverage levels depending on the community structure within the sample (richness, evenness, and genome size variation). Shotgun metagenomics is a powerful method that conceptually allows all the genomes from all the organisms and their associated viruses within a sample to be determined given sufficient sequencing depth (Tyson et al., 2004 Venter et al., 2004 Handelsman et al., 2007). This work provides quantitative data to inform a cost–benefit analysis of the decision to supplement shotgun metagenomic projects with long reads towards the goal of recovering genomes from environmentally abundant groups. Of the shared MAGs recovered from each method, the ONT-only approach generated the longest and least fragmented MAGs, while the hybrid approach yielded the most complete. While yielding fewer MAGs, the ONT-only approach generated MAGs with a high probability of containing rRNA genes, 3× higher than either of the other methods. ![]() A similar number of viral genomes were reconstructed using the hybrid and ONT methods, and both recovered nearly fourfold more viral genomes than the Illumina-only approach. ![]() The hybrid approach recovered 2× more mid to high-quality MAGs compared to the Illumina-only approach and 4× more than the ONT-only approach. Assembly and metagenome-assembled genome (MAG) metrics for both microbes and viruses were determined from an Illumina-only assembly, ONT-only assembly, and a hybrid assembly approach. To compare the recovery of genomes from microorganisms and their viruses from groundwater, we generated shotgun metagenomes with Illumina sequencing accompanied by long reads derived from the Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing platform. Assembling microbial and viral genomes from metagenomes is a powerful and appealing method to understand structure–function relationships in complex environments. ![]() ![]() ![]() Keep your garbage tidy and secure cans or containers so they won’t be attracted by it. ![]() ![]() JQuery.Deferred() introduces several enhancements to the way callbacks are managed and invoked. For example, in versions prior to jQuery 1.5, asynchronous processes such as jQuery.ajax() accept callbacks to be invoked some time in the near-future upon success, error, and completion of the ajax request. In JavaScript it is common to invoke functions that optionally accept callbacks that are called within that function. Callbacks can still be added to the resolved or rejected Deferred - they will execute immediately. Once the object has entered the resolved or rejected state, it stays in that state. Calling deferred.reject() or deferred.rejectWith() transitions the Deferred into the rejected state and immediately executes any failCallbacks that are set. Calling deferred.resolve() or deferred.resolveWith() transitions the Deferred into the resolved state and immediately executes any doneCallbacks that are set. Any callbacks added to the object with deferred.then(), deferred.always(), deferred.done(), or deferred.fail() are queued to be executed later. The called function can attach callbacks using deferred.then(), for example.Ī Deferred object starts in the pending state.
